Tom Hoang

Regional Director, Market Analysis – Air Cargo
Boeing Commercial Airplanes

Tom Hoang has held various positions in both Engineering and Marketing departments.  As regional director, Hoang leads Boeing air cargo monitoring efforts in China, NE Asia and Europe.  He has held a similar position, focused on the Americas region.  Tom is a key member of the team that produces The Boeing Company’s World Air Cargo Forecast. 

The forecast summarizes the world’s major air trade markets, identifies major trends, and presents forecasts for the future performance and development of markets, as well as for the world freighter airplane fleet.  The forecast is issued biennially and is considered to be the industry standard for reliable data and analysis of the air cargo market.  Mr. Hoang’s expertise on air cargo trends also plays a key role in Boeing product strategy and product-development efforts. 

Previously, Mr. Hoang worked in the Product Analysis group, where he was responsible for Market Communication initiatives for the Twin Aisle Programs. 

Mr. Hoang also worked in Engineering where he was responsible for all cargo related issues, ranging from requirements and certification of cargo compartment air conditioning/heating systems to the transportation of dangerous goods and live animals. 

Born in Vietnam, Tom grew up in Seattle, Washington. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and has an M.B.A. from Seattle University.
