Mr. Hiran Perera has worked in the airline industry for over 40 years. He joined Emirates in 1986 as a Cargo Instructor and has since then worked in various capacities within Emirates SkyCargo – the freight division of Emirates. From the very beginnings, he was involved in the development of freighter operations within Emirates and has played a key role in developing and expanding the airline’s freighter network.   

Mr. Perera was also involved in the assessment and development of the current Emirates SkyCargo freighter fleet including the Boeing 777 freighter aircraft.   

More recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Perera was also spearheading Emirates’ deployment of passenger aircraft for cargo operations and the development of the passenger freighter network.   

He is currently the Senior Vice President- Cargo Planning and Freighters with an overall responsibility for the freighter programme as well as overseeing Cargo Revenue Optimization within Emirates SkyCargo.  

Mr. Perera has an MBA from the University of Bradford, UK and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, U.K
